Pocket Garden Poster

In my Junior year at Penn State, I interned at a branch of the Penn State Student Farm called the Schreyer Pocket Garden (SPG). I handled the meetings, event planning, and marketing for the garden. I designed this poster to promote our big Spring Planting Day and encourage students to volunteer.
Except for the logo in the corner, the full design style was orchestrated by myself, including the font, color palette, and assets. These decisions were carefully made, keeping in mind that these flyers would need to be seen among a wall of other flyer from verious organizations. Thus, I went for a vibrant, simple, and high-contrast look.

An experimental take on the traditional typeface poster exercise, where a chosen typeface and its attributes are displayed in a single composition. I chose PF Marlet Display as my muse because of its bold yet elegant presence. The result piece is a fiery, jagged array of characters that gives breath to the character qualities of this wonderful typeface.

Animation’s Club mission is to bring the art and passion of animation to the students of Penn State, from the hobbyist to the career driven animators.
I joined the Animation Club’s executive board in my freshman year of College as a graphic designer. The next year, I was elected the Event Planner, and in my 3rd year, the President. For the past 3 years on the Animaiton club exec board, I have made every calendar for every month of the school year.

I was prompted to make this logo from a graphic design class that I took in my 3rd year at uni, but I had always been meaning to make one. Through various iterations and multiple in-class critiques from my peers and professor, I found my logo.

Rocket Tailors

This is another logo design project for my graphic design class, where we created logos for a fake brand. I played around with using different ways I could express “Rocket” and “Tailors”, like using an astronaut or a needle and thread, but I ultimitaley decided a rocket and a measuring tape were going to be the strongest visuals.
